GW vs #14 Butler tomorrow! Homecoming! Sold out, tailgate, on TV, and I'm a guest blogger!

One of the biggest games in awhile is tomorrow, as GW faces the Bulldogs of Butler University at 2 pm. You may have heard of Butler, they were in the Final Four a couple times, are ranked #14 in the nation, you know, stuff like that. You should totally go -- it's sold out, but you can always try your Uncle Craig or the scalpers outside the Smith Center! And if you are a student, I'm told they will make every effort to get as many students as humanly possible into the building, but it's better if you show up earlier, of course.

To help with showing up early, GW is having a tailgate beforehand at the Fedex Plaza, which is between Funger Hall and Duques Hall (the Business School building), so that's between 22nd and 23rd, G and H. It has Hill Country BBQ catering, which is awesome because that place is delicious. I hope they bring Big Red soda, which is from Texas. Big Red or not, check it out!

The game is on CSN Plus, so you can watch it from there if you can't make it. And as an added bonus, GWSports.com has decided to give me keys to the Smith Center (figuratively) and make me guest blogger for the day, which is pretty awesome. I'll be posting to their  Twitter (@GWGeorge) and Instagram (GW_George) accounts, and my experiences to GW's 22nd and G blog. I'll get to check out pre- and  post-game press events and generally roaming the Smith Center and engaging in shenanigans while dressed like George Washington. Tune in!

Here's more from GW!

Colonials Fans –

In less than 24 hours, GW men’s basketball tips off against the #14-ranked Butler Bulldogs in a sold out Homecoming game at the Charles E. Smith Center. We’re expecting an incredible crowd and a game that will pay tribute to some of the great moments in Colonials history.

Remember these key updates as you prepare for Homecoming:

Get to campus early. With large crowds expected for the game and weekend track work expected for metro riders on the Orange and Red lines (click for details), you'll want to arrive early. If you chose to drive, there is a new parking garage available with entrances on 20th and 21st Streets between F and G Streets, NW.

Stop by the Tailgate. We’re proud to be welcoming Hill Country Barbecue as a sponsor of our Homecoming tailgate at FedEx Plaza starting at 11am between Funger and Duques Halls at 22nd and G Streets, NW. All fans are invited, and food and drink service will run from 11am-1pm.

Use All Entrances. If you already have your ticket, consider using the main box office entrance or our entrance at 23rd and G Streets, NW (across from Funger Hall near the Greek Townhouse Row). Will Call will be open at 1pm and is located at the corner of G and 22nd Streets on the upper level entrance.

Bring canned food. As part of our continuing effort to support Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, we’re asking all fans to bring a non-perishable food item to feed the hungry in the Washington, DC area. Collection stations will be available at all entrances.

Raise High your voices and help us take down the nation’s 14th-ranked team.
