Whoa! GW alumni game on Aug. 12: Shawnta, Sir Val, Pops, Tyler, Mike Hall, Mike King, more!!!

This sounds incredible. GW is organizing its first basketball alumni game on Saturday, August 12 at 11:30am, part of their GW Men's Basketball Reunion.

Coach Maurice Joseph tweeted out the rosters, and they're full of awesome names from the past: Shawnta Rogers, SirValiant Brown (who almost led the nation in scoring as a freshman), Mike Hall, Tyler Cavanaugh, Carl Elliott, Isaiah Armwood, and on and one. There's even some old timers there -- Don Ardell graduated in 1963!

There's a lot of NBA experience in there, stars from the past, fan favorites, and more. A few of these guys transferred to other schools, so it's cool to see them back to GW.

Here's more from GW. This is so awesome.
Dear Colonials Fan,

The GW Men's Basketball Program is about family. Whether in the Smith Center, the Tin Tabernacle, Uline Arena or Conmy Hall, if you were once a Colonial, you're forever a Colonial.

That's why I'm inviting you to join us to watch our alumni game on Saturday, August 12, at 11:30am, as part of the GW Men's Basketball Reunion. Players from across all eras of GW Basketball will come together on Tex Silverman Court and relive some of their best memories. I hope you'll cheer them on in the stands.

Tickets are free, but we ask that you RSVP by clicking here. Keep an eye on my Twitter feed for updates on who's expected to play. I look forward to seeing you in the Smith Center.

Raise High,

Maurice Joseph
Head Coach, GW Men's Basketball
